Beijing Furen Foreign Studies University (BFFSU) is a regular private university approved by the government of Beijing Municipality. It is located in the northern part of Changping science and technology development zone, covering an area of more than 600 mu of land, with a river flowing by the front and a hill at the back to form a landscape scenery. BFFSU was originally established in 1984, and amalgamated into Huijia Educational Organization in February 2000 to become a component part of the organization. The university was then re-registered and its legal person was also changed. |

BFFSU carries out its unique educational concept of "New type, high quality, multiple levels and international orientation", with the characteristics of offering multiple disciplines, diversified programs and courses; linking up of domestic and foreign education; and a combination of conventional and professional training. Furen's final aim is to train every student to master a foreign language, acquire a professional knowledge, grasp a skill in modern technology and eventually have a required proficiency in a certain field. The courses and the programs of Beijing Furen Foreign Studies University are based on the demands of the society for the professional personnel at the times of knowledge-based economy. By scientifically offering required disciplines and faculties, and in accordance with the characteristics of different branches of learning and profession, the university has set up a multiple group of specialties with the foreign language faculty as its main development orientation. In addition, accompanied by establishing the common tool platform in foreign language, it is to further develop such specialties as economic management, finance and banking, information technology, and art design. The university takes training specialized personnel with manifold practical abilities as its main purpose, paying great attention to the training of students in their proficiency of practical use of a foreign language. By these approaches the students will eventually be able to have rich theoretical knowledge, professional skills, and with initiative in innovation and continuous development. Furen will fully take the advantage of Beijing's superior conditions in education and scientific research to invite experienced professors, researchers, and senior engineers from renowned universities or scientific research institutes to be as teachers or give lectures at the university, either in the form of fill-time or part-time service. In addition, the university also offers various forms of education for adults, including professional training programs such as professional certificate programs, trade qualification programs to meet the demands for various professional personnel. The university tries to make various forms of cooperation with educational institutions around the world. Now it has set up cooperative relationships with a number of educational institutions in West Europe, North America and Australia. Such cooperation is on the principle of equality and mutual benefit to share each other's strong point, resources and proper responsibilities. It is expected to have varied forms of cooperation with foreign educational institutions based on mutual consent and in terms of the pertinent laws of China and the cooperative partners as well. Beijing Furen Foreign Studies University is developing rapidly through practice. It is willing to learn all the advanced methodology and experience from both domestic and foreign educational institutions to build the new Furen into a high academic level, completely new type, and modernized private university. |
