I*EARN(International Education and Resource Network) is a nonprofit organization that conduct its work through international network. Its goal is to unite the young people all over the world by means of researching and showing concern for the problems currently occurred in the present society, to call on them to take responsibility for the society and make their contribution to the healthy development and environmental protection. So far there are more than 2500 schools and youth communities that have already joined in the International Education and Resource Network. The network makes the students and teachers throughout the world cooperate with each other in specific projects by means of advanced science and technology, WWW and E-mail. Since its formal participation in the organization in 1998, Huijia School has sent more than 20 students' works to the network, and received more than 100 letters from al corners of the world. Through such activities, the students have not only promoted mutual understanding and exchanges among them, but also improved their ability to make a clear distinction between right and wrong, and got to know their own values in society. For example, a student from Huijia School named Cong Longyun, wrote an article "For Our Future", in which he expressed his idea on the problems of environmental pollution, the disparity between the rich and the poor, and population explosion. He advised the people of the world to solve these problems with joint effort. At present, the world situation is in
turbulence in certain area, flames of war rose once more, the people
of the world, especially the youth, are paying great attention to the
situation in the area. We hope that the students and all the youth can
exchange views on the situation through the International
Education and Resource Network, and do their bit to safeguard world
peace. Articles written by Huijia's students For Our Future Although I am sure that our future is bright and brilliant, I am still worrying about some of problems we have to deal with in the future. Now we are living in a society of internationalization and modernization. Thanks to our ancestors who have left so much heritages to us both in science, technology and in culture so that we can live happily in the modern world but what shall we leave to our descendant? How to solve the problems raised by the development of modern agriculture and industry: That is the problem of environmental pollution. How to deal with the social problems such as the increasing world population, the difference between the wealth and poverty, and the generation gap between parents and teenagers? Environmental pollution is becoming worse day by day. The harmful waste produced by the factories can not be solved. Poisonous gases are sent into the air. The ozone layer above the earth is getting depleted. Then the farmers spray poison to kill the pests, and add fertilizer to the soil to make plants grow better, poison is sent into the air, the water and the soil. Many factories discharge their wastewater into the river. Cars and trucks are producing harmful waste gases to pollute the air seriously in big cities. Oh! ""Too much pollution around us! What shall we do with it? With the development of modern science and technology, more and more work is to be done by machines and more and more people lose their jobs. Prices are rising continuously. The retired workers' pension become less and less to which makes it hard to meet their living requirements. Population is increasing, but the farmland is decreasing бн of course, we have a brilliant future, bur we are still facing serious problems. There are a lot of things for us to do in the future. Don't be so optimistic! We have to work hard to strive for a better world! How I wish that all the nations could unite as one big family in which people could help each other and take care of each other! If everyone especially a student like us is responsible to his citizen ship of the world, I believe a brilliant future will surely belong to us.
